Soul on Canvas: a guided prayer portrait retreat
A half-day retreat for women to listen, create, and honor what is becoming
Saturday, April 11th, 9:30am-1pm
What if your story could be shared and gently met with compassion? What if this season—quiet, complex, unfinished—was still worthy of being seen… and gently translated into color, shape, and blessing? This retreat is an invitation to create your own Prayer Portrait—a visual and poetic expression of your becoming.
There is a kind of art that does not begin with skill, but with honesty. And that’s what we are creating together. This kind of making starts with listening. In this half-day retreat, you will be guided through a gentle, prayerful process of tending what you are holding right now—through reflection, intuitive art-making, and being beheld in a soft circle of women.
You do not need to be an artist.
You only need a willingness to notice what is present and respond.
This is a chance to bless your own face and all that it’s witnessed.
This retreat is for you if you are:
Carrying something tender, heavy, or unnamed
Moving through transition or change
Longing to reconnect with your creative voice
Desiring a gentle, embodied way to pray
Wanting to mark a season with beauty and intention
Or simply curious about what might emerge if you slowed down and listened
What To Expect
During our time together, you will be guided through:
Gentle reflection prompts to help you name what this season holds
A prayerful posture of listening—to God, to your body, to your story
Introduction to intuitive, abstract art-making (no experience needed)
Creating your own mixed-media “Prayer Portrait”
Writing a short blessing, poem, or words to accompany your piece
A closing moment of honoring and optional sharing
The Shape of Our Time Together
Retreat Flow:
Gathering — welcome, settling, opening prayer
Listening — guided reflection + journaling
Responding — painting + intuitive mark-making
Naming — writing a blessing or poem
Honoring — optional sharing + closing
This retreat is for anyone longing to feel seen—not for what you produce, but for who you are.
Whether you are in a season of grief, growth, transition, healing, or quiet unfolding—there is something here for you.
