Leadership Formation and Organizational Discernment

Companioning leaders and organizations through seasons of growth, conflict, transition, discernment, and fatigue.

Companioning Leaders and Organizations Through Seasons of Change

Every organization has a soul.

Whether it is a church, nonprofit, ministry, or mission-driven team, beneath the strategic plans, budgets, and meetings are people carrying hopes, fears, callings, conflicts, questions, and dreams.

When those deeper layers are neglected, even the healthiest organizations begin to feel strained. Teams lose trust. Leaders burn out. Conflict lingers beneath the surface. The mission becomes blurry. People begin surviving instead of flourishing.

For over twenty years, I have served within nonprofits, churches, educational settings, and mission-driven organizations—helping leaders navigate seasons of growth, transition, uncertainty, conflict, and discernment.

My approach blends organizational wisdom, leadership development, spiritual formation, and compassionate curiosity. Rather than offering quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions, I help leaders and teams slow down long enough to understand what is actually happening beneath the surface and move forward with greater clarity, health, and alignment.

Together, we create space to listen well, name what matters most, and discern faithful next steps.

About Kaysie

For more than twenty years, I have worked alongside churches, nonprofits, educational organizations, and mission-driven leaders as they navigate growth, transition, conflict, burnout, and discernment.

My professional background spans nonprofit leadership, organizational development, strategic planning, curriculum design, team formation, leadership coaching, retreat facilitation, and spiritual formation. Throughout my career, I have been drawn to the places where organizational challenges intersect with deeply human realities: purpose, relationships, trust, grief, hope, and change.

I currently serve as a deacon in the Anglican Church and maintain a private practice in spiritual direction, where I companion individuals through seasons of discernment, healing, leadership, and vocational clarity. This formation deeply shapes the way I approach organizational work. I believe healthy organizations are built by healthy people, and that lasting change happens when we attend not only to systems and strategy, but also to the hearts of the people carrying the mission forward.

Clients often describe me as both grounding and clarifying. I bring a calm presence, thoughtful questions, strategic insight, and a deep capacity for listening beneath the surface. My work helps leaders and teams make sense of complexity, navigate difficult conversations, strengthen trust, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Whether facilitating a leadership retreat, guiding a strategic planning process, helping a team navigate conflict, or companioning a founder through a season of transition, my hope is always the same: to create the conditions where people can flourish and organizations can become more fully aligned with their purpose.

I believe organizations, like gardens, require tending. Teams thrive when trust is cultivated, stories are honored, and people have space to tell the truth about what is hard and what is hopeful. My work is ultimately about helping leaders and communities pay attention—to one another, to their mission, and to the next faithful step in front of them.

I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I am a writer, artist, spiritual director, mother of two boys, and lover of long walks, good stories, and tables full of conversation.

My Approach

The work I offer is shaped by two decades of leadership experience, extensive training in spiritual formation and discernment, and a deep belief that people thrive when they are seen, heard, and cared for well.

Clients often describe my presence as both grounding and clarifying. I ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns that are easy to miss, and create environments where honest conversations can happen.

I am particularly passionate about helping leaders and teams:

  • Recover clarity during seasons of uncertainty

  • Build healthier organizational cultures

  • Navigate conflict with courage and compassion

  • Sustain their work without sacrificing their wellbeing

  • Remain connected to the mission and values that matter most

Because thriving organizations are not built by strategy alone.

They are built by people who know how to listen, discern, adapt, and care for one another well.
