Help Build a House of Welcome

Listening House exists to cultivate places where people encounter the welcome of God and are formed into lives of deeper love, prayer, and faithful presence.

We believe that listening is one of the first acts of love. In a world marked by exhaustion, loneliness, and spiritual disconnection, we are creating spaces where people can slow down, rest, pray, and rediscover friendship with the Triune God.

Through retreats, spiritual direction, formation cohorts, clergy care, creative practice, and hospitality, Listening House seeks to serve weary leaders, artists, seekers, churches, and anyone longing for a life that can more fully hold the love of God.

As our ministry grows, we are especially honored to serve alongside the Diocese and Order of St. Anthony (DOSA), supporting the spiritual formation of clergy, oblates, and lay leaders while offering places of renewal for those who spend their lives caring for others.

None of this is built by one person alone. It is sustained through the generosity of people who believe that creating places of welcome is holy work.

Our First Project: Preparing Marymount

The first expression of Listening House is Marymount—a small retreat hermitage nestled behind my home and next to the garden.

Marymount is being created as a quiet place where individuals can step away from the demands of daily life to pray, rest, create, grieve, discern, and simply be with God.

It will offer overnight retreats, spiritual direction, clergy renewal, guided retreats, creative practices, and simple hospitality for those in need of restoration.

Renovation is well underway, and we are now entering the final stage of preparation before opening our doors to our first guests.

Our current goal is to raise $15,000 to complete the remaining construction, furnish the space with beauty and care, provide creative and spiritual resources for guests, and establish an initial scholarship fund so that financial limitations never become a barrier for those most in need of retreat and renewal.

Every gift—large or small—helps prepare this place of welcome.

Beyond Marymount

While Marymount is our first home, it is only the beginning.

Listening House is growing into a ministry that will continue to offer spiritual direction, retreats, formation cohorts, writing, clergy care, and partnerships with churches and organizations seeking to cultivate deeper lives of prayer, hospitality, and faithful service.

Your generosity helps make this work possible—not only today, but for years to come.

Become a Founding Companion

If Listening House has encouraged you, if you believe the Church and our communities need places of rest and renewal, or if you simply want to help create a place where others can encounter the love of God, I would be honored to invite you to become a Founding Companion.

Some companions will make a one-time gift to help prepare Marymount for its first guests.

Others will choose to give monthly, helping sustain the ongoing work of Listening House as it continues to grow.

Whatever the size of your gift, your partnership becomes part of the story of welcome that God is writing through this ministry.

Thank you for believing that beauty, prayer, hospitality, and faithful presence still matter.

Together, we are preparing a place where weary hearts may find rest, hope may be rekindled, and people may discover themselves welcomed more deeply into the life and love of God.

Let’s design a creative rest retreat for you.
