Experience a welcome that  heals.

Creative soul care experiences for women longing for spiritually safe spaces.

Welcome to Listening House. My name is Kaysie and I am a trauma-informed spiritual director, story coach, retreat leader, group facilitator, and artist.

Basically, I love listening people back to life.

My life has taken me through many soul landscapes: spiritual wilderness, vocational burnout, creative rebirth, relational rupture & restoration, spacious Divine friendship, and a reclamation of my own voice and calling.

“Where are you?”

Did you know this is the first question God asks in Scripture?

Maybe you know exactly where you are: exhausted. confused. ready. longing. Or maybe you need help locating yourself.

I believe the journey you’re on is holy. And it’s worthy of compassionate, wise care as you navigate your way.

Let’s go gently. Let’s go together.

Spiritual Direction/Soul Care

God is closer than we could ever imagine and yet sometimes it is hard to discern His presence in our lives. Spiritual direction is a spacious time set aside to pause, to notice, to rest in our belovedness as we are accompanied by someone whose purpose in that hour is to listen prayerfully and compassionately alongside us, attending to the flickers of the Spirit in all things.

Story-Work Coaching

Story-work coaching offers you a supportive space to explore the places you feel most exhausted, stuck, or lonely and how deep wisdom is often woven into your story. I offer compassionate and personalized guidance through a deeply reflective posture, creative + approachable exercises, and spiritually sensitive + trauma-informed perspective. Together we can gently enter your story, identify the places of internal oppression and resistance, cultivate practices that offer deep renewal, and reignite your sense of meaning and alignment with God and your truest self.

Creative Rest Personal Retreats

Nestled in the serene sanctuary of my intimate backyard art studio in Chattanooga, TN, Creative Rest is a personal day retreat designed just for you. Step away from the noise of life and enter a sacred time of rest and play and listening. Let me guide you into what feels gentle and easy on your soul, which could be an art journaling practice, or taking a long bath in the soaking tub, or sitting quietly in the garden or greenhouse. This time is just for you, and I’m here to help you enter creative rest.

Creative Workshops

Soulful, intimate, and thoughtfully curated, I lead workshops on soul care practices, story work, artistic reclamation, and soulful home design. Join me for the next one!

Testimonials

“Spiritual direction has given me a time to rest in the presence of God and listen for His voice with a wise companion. Kaysie masterfully facilitates this time with gentleness, curiosity, and eye-opening questions that help me discover what’s under the surface. She has an uncanny way of putting words to what’s already in my heart. She has been a compassionate witness to my story, a welcoming presence to my grief, and someone who enters into my spiritual wrestling with me. I am especially appreciative of Kaysie‘s knowledge of the body’s inextricable role in trauma and healing. She understands me in a way that few ever have. There are not adequate words for the sacredness of our time together in God‘s presence, but I am grateful that God led me to Kaysie and continues to lead our time together.”

“I found a lot of what I was seeking during this retreat - grounding, accountability and accessibility to rest and the Spirit, and a beginning journey of inward peace more intentionally. I truly felt like this time began to undo a lot of what the last couple years had formed in my life, and I don't think I've had such a real tangible experience like that before.”

— Laura H.

“Kaysie was such a gracious guide for our retreat. I appreciate her gentle invitation to engage in whatever ways felt helpful. It took the pressure of feeling like I had to explain some of the recent trauma I’ve experienced. It was so nice to be able to listen to others and have time/space to process a little more of my own story. I liked how she integrated faith, scripture, and prayer without being dogmatic or oppressive. She encouraged us to be present and open to hearing how the Spirit was speaking to us or what he might be showing us. The time we spent learning about and then practicing centering prayer was so grounding for me and I was thankful for Kaysie introducing me to that type of prayer.”

— Rachel G.

Kaysie's presence and space are holy ground and it's been a privilege to sit in her chair and be heard. Leaving her space I always feel lighter and with a more clear picture of God and His love and tenderness towards me. Spiritual direction to me is best described as slowing down and taking time to intentionally see God in my story. I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn from Kaysie and have her walk alongside my journey as I navigate towards being whole emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
